Davis' Parrish helps Washington to win in Northwest Shootout
EWU-bound guard puts up solid all-around game in victory against Oregon

Davis senior Neveah “Deets” Parrish capped her high school career Sunday, putting up a solid effort to help Washington defeat Oregon in the Northwest Shootout.
Parrish, who is headed to play collegiately at Eastern Washington, scored eight points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out seven assists and had four steals in Washington’s 124-93 victory at Portland Community College in the annual showcase of the top seniors in the neighboring states.
The versatile guard made 3 of 6 shots, including both or her 3-pointers, in 26 minutes of action.
Union's Brooklyn Haywood scored a game-high 27 points for Washington to claim MVP honors.
It’s second all-star game for Parrish, who put up similar numbers – eight points, eight rebounds and two steals – in the Class 4A victory against the 3A in the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Associationin the All-State games in mid-March.
The two-time 4A state champions also keyed Team Yakima’s victory in the SWX All-Star Classic at Davis High School on April 4.
Pirates juniors Isa Garcia and two-time 4A Player of the Year and tournament MVP Cheyene Hull tied for game-high honors with 16 points apiece, and fellow 11th-grader Kobe Johnson added 13 in the 98-72 victory.
Garcia was named the MVP of the games for the second year in a row.
Davis finished the season 24-2, winning their last 18 games and beating Sumner in the championship game in the Tacoma Dome for the second straight year.
Pirates coach Akil White was named the WSGBCA Coach of the Year at the All-State games at King's High School.
