Villanueva, Hansen lead Sunnyside to key win
Grizzlies win at Wenatchee, and the rest of Friday night's action

Sunnyside’s surge continued Friday night with junior quarterback Julian Villanuva nearly perfect in leading the Grizzlies to a 52-28 victory against the Panthers.
Villanueva completed 21 of 22 passes for 329 yards and five touchdowns, and Derek Hansen rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns as Sunnyside improved to 3-2 in the CBBN and 3-4 overall.
The Grizzlies, who host Eisenhower, have the inside track on the conference’s third berth to the Week 10 state play-ins after their third straight victory.
Wenatchee fell to 3-3 in conference and 4-4 overall, but is in position for the CBBN’s fourth and final play-in berth.

MOSES LAKE 72, WEST VALLEY 7: At Moses Lake, Brady Jay threw nine touchdowns, breaking his own school record to lead the Mavericks to the victory.
DAVIS 20, EISENHOWER 14: At Yakima, Davis quarterback Noah Newkirk threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns – including two to D’Anothony Wiggins – to lead the Pirates (1-4 CBBN, 2-6 overall) past their crosstown rival. Antonio Castillo and Roman Castillo each had scoring runs for Ike (0-5, 0-8).

EAST VALLEY 61, QUINCY 0: At Quincy, Jaxon Berg threw for four touchdowns and Braden Albrecht had two rushing touchdowns and a receiving score to lead the Red Devils.
PROSSER 53, ELLENSBURG 15: At Ellensburg, Autry Hoefer rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns and Daniel Diaz tossed a pair of scoring passed to lead the Mustangs (5-2 CWAC, 5-3 overall) past the Bulldogs (2-5, 2-6), who got a pair of rushing TDs from Wyat Winston.
EPHRATA 23, SELAH 16: At Selah, the visiting Tigers (4-3 CWAC, 5-3) took a big step toward nabbing the conference’s fourth berth to the Week 10 state-qualifiers with the victory over the Vikings (4-3, 5-3).
OTHELLO 41, TOPPENISH 23: At Toppenish, the Huskies (6-1 CWAC, 7-1 overall) rolled past the Wildcats (3-5, 3-5) as they closed in on the conference’s second seed to the Week 10 play-ins. Carlos Melgoza had 111 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

ROYAL 55, NACHES VALLEY 0: At Naches, the five-time defending Class 1A champion Knights posted their fourth shutout of the season.
ZILLAH 38, WAHLUKE 6: At Mattawa, Beau Donahoe threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, Jace Salme had seven reception for 111 yards and a score, and Brayden Russell rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs to lead the Leopards (5-2 SCAC, 6-2 overall) past the Warriors (2-5, 2-6).
CONNELL 51, WAPATO 14: At Wapato, the Eagles (4-3 SCAC, 4-4 overall) won for the fourth time in five games, and is averaging more than 60 points in the victories. Noel Lopez rushed for 154 yards and a score for the Wolves (3-4, 3-5).
KIONA-BENTON 34, COLLEGE PLACE 6: At College Place, the Bears (1-7 SCAC, 1-7 overall) pulled away from the Hawks (0-7, 0-8) for their first victory of the season.

TRI-CITIES PREP 28, GRANDVIEW 6: At Grandview, the unbeaten Jaguars (8-0), ranked No. 1 in 2B, overcame Nathan Montes de Oca’s 301 rushing yards and scoring run to beat the Greyhounds (1-7).
CASHMERE 59, CHELAN 8: At Chelan, Rylan Hatmaker threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns and Jayce McMahon rushed for 91 yards and three scores and the Bulldogs (7-1) defeated the Goats to win their 11thstraight Bronze Shoe in the matchup between the former Caribou Trail League rivals.
