LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Given the national stage, the Northwest Blazers were at their best.

With Davis’ Cheyenne Hull and Lynden’s Finley Parcher sharing game-high honors with 19 points apiece, the Blazers 17U team rolled to an 80-60 victory Saturday in a showdown with the West Virginia Thunder in the Run 4 Roses Classic at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

In the facility filled with 80 full-sized courts, the national-power programs met on the main court, surrounded by packed bleachers and other fans finding a spot to watch the matchup that also aired on ESPN2.

The Blazers didn’t disappoint, turning an eight-point halftime lead into a runaway after the intermission.

Hull, who has won the past two MaxPreps Class 4A Player of the Year awards and state-tournament MVP in leading the Pirates to back-to-back state championships, sparked a Blazers’ which pushed the lead to double digits in the second quarter.

First, she took a Parcher feed on a curl for layin and followed that with the first of her three 3-pointers. Hull had nine points before the break, while Parcher – the two-time 2A Player of the Year and state-tourney MVP for the Lions, winners of 75 games and three 2A titles in a row – had 11.

Hull added a putback and another trey in the third, and assisted on a Parcher layup.

Prosser’s Herbie Wright also got into the mix. After her steal and assist to Coeur D’Alene’s Brookslee Colvin capped the first quarter, Wright again found ESPN’s 25th-ranked player of the class 2027 to end the third with a 3-pointer.

Wright, the CWAC MVP who topped the conference in scoring the last two seasons, also had a layup off her own steal and finished with three points.

Both teams entered the game undefeated this season. The Thunder, which won the event last year, was without No. 2 recruit Ivanna Wilson Manyacka, who was playing with the national team.

The Blazers opened the Run 4 Roses on Friday by beating the Wisconsin Lakers 66-44, and handled FBC United We Trust 68-48 on Saturday before meeting the Thunder.

They'll play two more games Sunday before wrapping up the event Monday.

The Blazers 17U Rise also is unbeaten this season and 3-0 at the Run 4 Roses. The team features Zillah teammates Angelina Buck, Makenna Klitzke and Bella Valadez, and Chiawana’s Jordan Maiden and Emily Thompson.

Ellensburg’s Bella Standish and Zillah’s June Fiander played for the team earlier this year.

The program also has 16U and 15U teams at the event. Selah’s Brynn Bettis and Prosser’s Mickey Wright are on the 15U team
