A four-win week – including victories against Class 4A No. 6 Lake Washington and top-ranked 1A Zillah – kept defending state champion Davis atop the VarsityWA polls.

The Pirates, who debuted atop the rankings and have stayed there since, continue conference play with a trip to Eastmont on Friday before hosting West Valley the next day.

The CWAC remains well-represented in the 2A polls.

BOYS STANDINGS/GIRLS STANDINGS

Selah’s boys are unbeaten in conference play and kept hold of No. 3, as do Prosser’s girls, who have won seven straight in lopsided fashion.

The Mustangs are joined by Selah (No. 6), Ellensburg (No.7) and Grandview (No. 9) in a race for the conference’s two state berths and another possible in a crossover with the Northwest Conference.

Grandview’s boys, which fell at Ellensburg on Saturday, remains ninth

Zillah’s boys and girls also remained No. 1 in their respective polls. The Leopards boys remained unbeaten, and with a sweep of second-place Royal accomplished, are four games away from a sweep of SCAC play.

Royal also has both teams in the 1A rankings. The Knights boys are fourth while the girls remain seventh, netting a key victory against Wapato, which is fifth.
