The CWAC girls continue to make up nearly half of the VarsityWA Class 2A top 10 as they get ready for Monday night's district semifinals.
Prosser, which is riding an 11-game winning streak made up of blowouts fueled by high-scoring junior Herbie Wright, remains second behind two-time defending champion Lynden. The Mustangs (19-3) hosts No. 8 Selah (17-6).
Nearly seven weeks ago, the Vikings were the last team to beat Prosser.
Monday's other semifinal matches Ellensburg, No. 6 in the poll, and 10th-ranked Grandview. The host Bulldogs (18-4) have won six straight as they battle to return to the state tournament, where they've advanced to the championship four straight years, winning twice.
The Greyhounds (17-6) have dropped three of six games, but bounced back from back-to-back losses to Prosser.
In the 4A girls poll, defending champion Davis remains No. 1. The Pirates (19-2) won their fourth straight CBBN championship and will host Eisenhower in the district championship, with the winner gaining a state berth.
Class 1A District 5 finalists Zillah and Royal remain No. 1 and 6, respectively. The Leopards (21-2) and Knights (20-3) have both qualified for the state tournament, and meet at 5 p.m. Friday at Toppenish for the district title.
Wapato (17-5) is eighth, and hosts Cascade of Leavenworth at 6 p.m. Tuesday with the winner advancing to a crossover with teams from the Northeast 1A for a state berth.
On the boys side, West Valley (18-2) is No. 5 in the 4A, and hosts Moses Lake at 6 p.m. Thursday for the district championship after finishing its league schedule 12-0.
Selah's boys are No. 3 while Grandview is eighth. The Vikings (20-2) hosts Prosser (11-12), and the Greyhounds (16-6) entertain Ellensburg (10-13) in semis set for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The 1A District 5 boys final also is a matchup between Zillah and Royal. In this case, the Leopards (22-0) are No. 1 and Royal (21-2) is third.
