YAKIMA – With the coaches associations having hosted their all-state events, the all-star basketball circuit has a couple more weeks to go.

On April 12, the Northwest Shootout will be held at Portland Community College. The girls game will be at 1 p.m., with boys at 3.

Davis’ Deets Parrish, who helped the Pirates to their second straight Class 2A state championship, will be part of the 10-player Washington girls.

That team will include Lynden’s Payton Mills, who helped the Lions to their third 2A championship in a row earlier this month in the Yakima Valley SunDome.

Nathan Hale’s Zia-Daye Anderson, who scored a 2A tournament-record 52 points in the Raiders’ play-in victory against W.F. West, and all-tourney selection Brooke Blachly of Archbishop Murphy also are on Team Washington.

The Washington boys team has no CBBN, CWAC or SCAC players.

On Saturday, the Yakima and Tri-Cities will renew their rivalry at Davis High School with the SWX All-Star Classic. The girls scheduled for 3 p.m. and the boys to follow at 5.

The girls championship teams from Davis and Zillah will lead Yakima.

Two-time CBBN MVP and MaxPreps state Player of the Year Cheyenne Hull, and fellow Pirates juniors Isa Garcia and Kobe Johnson, will join Zillah junior Makenna Klitzke, the SCAC MVP, and Leopards sophomore Bella Valadez on Team Yakima.

Garcia won the MVP at last year’s game, scoring 19 points to spark Yakima’s 117-72 victory.

CWAC Player of the Year and two-time conference scoring champion Herbie Wright will join the Yakima efforts after leading the Mustangs to second place in the 2A state tournament setting the Yakima Valley single-game scoring record with 57 points.

On the boys side, WIBCA 2A Player of the Year Frankie Medina of Grandview, and Zillah’s Dekker Van De Graaf, the 1A winner of the same award, will lead the Yakima squad.

West Valley’s Austin Birley, ranked as one of the top sophomores in the state, also is scheduled to play, along with Sunnyside junior Aiden Sanchez, the CBBN’s leading scorer.

Selah’s Jackson Pepper nabbed MVP honors in the boys game, scoring 14 points to help Yakima edge Tri-Cities 110-107.

Connell's Nate Moore and College Place's Lucinda Weaver are the Tri-Cities rosters.

The rosters were selected by the SWX sports staff, and some players who were asked had scheduling conflicts and were unable to play.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for 18 and younger.
